Frequently Asked Questions At what age can my child start French or Spanish for Fidgets? Most children start between the ages of 2 and 3, though some are ready before this. The best way to find out if your child is ready is simply to book a taster and see how they get on. What happens in class? Classes are very active and include puppets, songs, games, role play, snacks, stories and craft. We use beautiful hand-sewn resources, made specially for Fidgets classes to give a full 3 dimensional experience and follow a different topic each term we are constantly learning new vocabulary and phrases. Transport and shopping are 2 key features of our classes which children particularly enjoy and are which are very helpful to parents when making trips abroad. Do I stay with my child in class? Yes. Fidgets classes are designed for you to attend with your child so that you can be fully engaged with their learning and carry on using French or Spanish together at home. Parents and carers really enjoy coming to our classes and watching the astonishingly rapid progress their little ones make. They find it a hugely worthwhile and valuable experience. I don't speak French or Spanish. Does that matter? Not at all. It does help if you are prepared to show your child that you are willing to have a go too. Even parents who have some language skills find they pick up lots of useful holiday phrases and enjoy practising these with their child outside class. How many children are in a class? Our maximum is 10: big enough for a friendly atmosphere but small enough for children to receive individual attention. How long does a class last? Our classes are usually 45 minutes in length. Can I bring my baby along too? Babies are welcome. All we ask is that if baby is crying you take him/her outside for a minute or two, just so that others in the class are not distracted. Once siblings reach 18 months and seem to want to join in with the class we offer a 30% reduction in fees for them. What are the payment terms? Fees are payable termly in advance and cover you, your child and all the snacks and take-home craft activities and sheets; you are more than welcome to join a class part way through a term and we only charge from when you start, not for the full term. Fees for a full term are approximately £85 but may vary slightly depending on the length of term and location. How do I book? Just phone our office (01904 706565) or email us.
